| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Swing (1999) |
When a Liverpudlian petty thief (Hugo Speer) is released from prison he pursues his dream of playing in a big swing band. He enlists the support of a motley group of musicians, from sources as diverse as a National Front metal band and a Protestant marching band (including Alexei Sayle). He also reunites with his ex-girlfriend (Lisa Stansfield), who has by now married the copper who put him inside. Despite this obvious impediment she joins up as lead singer, causing her husband to thwart the band's progress at every opportunity.
