THE THIEF OF BAGDAD is a british movie directed by Michael Powell and Ludwig Berger. Oscar for the best special effects, the best cinematography and the best art direction in 1941.
The Sultan Ahmad, disguised, decides to mingle with his own people and is sent into jail by Jaffar the Vizir. There he meets Abu, a young thief, who escapes with him. Together, they will try to overthrow the bloody political regime of Jaffar with the help of a Genius, the All-Seeing Eye and a magic carpet.
