| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Super Mario Brothers |
Loosly baised on the popular video game, it tells the story of Mario Mario (Hoskins) and Luigi Mario (Leguizamo), two New York plumbers. Luigi falls for a paleontologist named Daisy. She was found on the steps of a church in a large metal egg with a strange pendant. Anyway, she finds herself suddenly thrust into a parallel dimension where the people evolved from dinosaurs. It seems that when the asteroid struck the Earth, it created two parallel dimensions: one where the mammals took over and one where dinosaurs continued their reign. The rock which is Daisy's pendant is a piece of that meteor and it must be put back to bring the two worlds together. Mario and Luigi follow Daisy and find themselves at odds with the Dino-Dimension's ruthless dictator, King Koopa (Hopper). Will Mario and Luigi save Daisy? Somewhat enjoyable if you put aside all thoughts of the game.
