| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Shoot the Piano Player |
SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER is a movie based on a David Goodis novel "Down There" and directed by François Truffaut in 1960.
Edouard Saroyan played by Charles Aznavour was once a famous piano virtuose but, after his wife's suicide, he decides to give up his career. He plays now every night in a cheap Parisian bar under the name of Charlie Koller. One night, Albert Rémy, one of his brothers, asks for Edouard's help. After a robbery, he has double-crossed his partners who are now after him. Soon Aznavour and his new girl-friend Lena are involved in a wild chase that will lead everybody to the Saroyan's family farm for a tragic final.
A little Truffaut pearl.
