Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Hard Boiled (1992)
Winner of the 1993 Hong-Kong Film Award for best editing, HARD BOILED is the last movie directed by John Woo in his native country.

Sergent Tequila, played by Chow Yun-Fat, loses his partner during a shoot out at a tea house. Meanwhile, two gangs, active in the arms struggling, are fighting for supremacy. Tony -Allan- Leung, a young hitman, betrays his old boss Mr. Hui and joins the ranks of Johnny Wong who destroys Hui's organization after a violent raid. Tequila, told by an informer of the raid, meets Allan who spares him. Tequila then understands that Allan is an insider who works for the Hong-Kong police.

Explosive and superb.
