| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Jules and Jim |
This poetic film, considered to be Truffaut's masterwork, concerns Jules and Jim, two best friends living in World War I-era Europe. They are both involved in a tragic love-triangle with the emotionally unstable Catherine, a fragile, beautiful, and completely bewitching presence in their lives. Despite their common love for Catherine, and their fighting on opposite sides during World War I, their friendship never falters.
