| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about That Obscure Object of Desire |
THAT OBSCURE OBJECT OF DESIRE is the last movie of spanish director Luis Bunuel. Based on the book "la Femme et le Pantin" by Pierre Lou˙s. Nominated in 1978 for the Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Fernando Rey is a 60 years old wealthy frenchman who explains in the Sevilla-Paris train the story of his relationship with Conchita, the woman he has just left, to his fellow companions. She was his newly engaged maid when he first met her. Sexually attracted by her, he is soon obsessed by this young woman, played by two different actresses, who always rejects him after having him given some hope.
A little pearl.
