| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Soft Skin |
THE SOFT SKIN is a movie co-written and directed by François Truffaut in 1964.
Jean Desailly is a successful writer who gives lectures throughout Europe. Father of a little girl, he's happily married with Nelly Benedetti. During an airtrip to Lisbon, Portugal, he meets Françoise Dorléac, an air hostess, and falls deeply in love with her. She accepts to begin a love affair with him in spite of the fact he's much older than herself. Soon, Jean takes Françoise with him as he has to go to Reims in order to present a movie. He spends two days with his lover in the country but is unmasked by his wife.
One of Truffaut masterpieces.
