| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Leopard Man |
THE LEOPARD MAN is a Val Lewton production directed by Jacques Tourneur in 1943.
New Mexico. Dennis O'Keefe is a publicist whose girlfriend Kiki is a night performer in a local nightclub. One night, he brings her a black leopard with the idea that she will steal the show and have a tremendous success. Unfortunately, the animal, scared by one of the fellow performers of Kiki, runs away and kills a young girl during the night. As a second and a third young woman are killed shortly after this event, Dennis O'Keefe is beginning to have serious doubts about the real identity of the murderer. Why would a leopard stay in town while it could faint into the desert ?
Not as scary as CAT PEOPLE of the same director but still watchable.
