| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Few Good Men |
In this movie, Tom Cruise plays a military officer searching for some justice in the military system. Cruise reverts back to military films, having played a fighter pilot in Top Gun. Jack Nicholson may have delivered his most famous line of all when he tells Cruise, "You can't handle the truth!"

This must be one of Cruise's finest works. He plays a lawyer (Kafee) in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) who must prove that two Marines (Dawson and Downey) did not murder another marine (Santiago). Jack Nicholson plays a very well respected General (Jessip) who has control of the base the assult took place on (Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The same base that the Al Quida terrorist prisoners are being held on now). All Kafee has to prove is that Jessip ordered a Code Red (A punishment given to Marines when they don't do what they need to do) and then Dawson and Downey will be free from the charges. See it in widescreen\letter box, the Pan and Scan makes the camera work look really bad. Four Stars.

I loved this movie. I know Jack Nicholson's final courtroom speech by heart and usually recite it with him. He is amazing. Tom Cruise plays the lawyer, Dan Kaffe, assigned by division to defend to marines charged with Murder. It is one of the most brilliant courtroom dramas of the nineties. It's a story about honor, the military, and justice.
